    Lymphoedema
This is a collection of protein-rich fluid, which is evident as a swelling in the soft tissues below the skin. This is mainly due to the malfunction of drainage by the lymphatic channels. Lymphoedema may occur following damage to the lymphatic system, due to cancer, radiotherapy, surgery, fibrosis, infection, injury or congenital abnormalities. While it is not possible to repair damaged lymphatics, it may be possible to move the lymph fluid from a congested swollen area of the body to an area where the lymphatics are working
