TP ROX-A

Composition:

Roxithromycin...................................................150 mg

Ambroxol............................................................60 mg


Indications:

UTI, RTI, ENT infections, skin and soft tissue

 
Description:

Roxithromycin prevents bacteria from growing, by interfering with their protein synthesis. Roxithromycin binds to the subunit 50S of the bacterial ribosome, and thus inhibits the translocation of peptides. Roxithromycin has similar antimicrobial spectrum as erythromycin, but is more effective against certain gram-negative bacteria, particularly Legionella pneumophila.

Ambroxol increases content of surphactant in lungs, that is dealt with strengthening of synthesis of the last and secretion in alveolar pneumocytes, and also with breach of its disintegration. The medicinal product increases mucociliar transport of phlegm. It suppresses coughing insignificantly.

Dosage: Adults: 150-300 mg b.i.d. 30 min before meals for 7 days. Children: 2.5-5 mg/kg every 12 hours for 7 days.

Alfuzin Tablets

 

Composition
Alfuzin Tablets
Each tablet contains Alfuzosin hydrochloride (extended release) 10mg

Indications
Alfuzosin is used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, enlarged prostate) such as frequent, urgent need to urinate during the day and at night, weak urine stream, and difficulty urinating. Alfuzosin is in a class of medications called alpha-1 blockers. It works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck to allow urine to flow more easily.

Description

Alpha blocker drug ,relax the muscles in the prostrate gland and the neck of the bladder.This allows the urethra to open wider so that urine flows more easily.  

Contraindications

Alfuzosin should be used with caution in patients with severe renal insufficiency, and should not be prescribed to patients with a known history of QT prolongation or to patients who are taking medications known to prolong the QT interval (term related to cardiology). Alfuzosin should not be used in patients with moderate or severe hepatic insufficiency, (Childs-Pugh categories B and C) since alfuzosin blood levels are increased in these patients. Alfuzosin should not be co-administered with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, and ritonavir, since alfuzosin blood levels are increased. Alfuzosin is contraindicated in patients known to be hypersensitive to alfuzosin hydrochloride or any component of Alfuzosin tablets.

 

Side effects

The most common side effects are dizziness (due to postural hypotension), upper respiratory tract infection, headache, and fatigue.
